Dana Reyes is the editor of Closet Lane. She has spent the last ten years between the retail floor and editorial fact-checking, and the years before that behind the counter of a secondhand shop and the folding table of a community mending workshop. The through-line: most wardrobe problems are buying problems that went unchecked, or care problems that went unread.
What she covers
Dana's reporting sits closest to fibre and paperwork. She reads composition tags the way other people read ingredients — organic cotton, wool, linen, and the certification marks that travel with them (GOTS, RWS, B Corp). Her standing rule is that a claim on the front of a package is only as good as the page it links to, which is why her brand reviews put a company's published promises and its current policy pages side by side and let the gap speak for itself.
The running series
Two series carry her byline. Fine Print takes one brand's public commitment at a time — a repair program, a transparency pledge — and checks each line against what that commitment actually covers today, and what it quietly doesn't. Capsule Math works the other side of the closet: how many outfits a fixed set of pieces can actually produce, which single addition unlocks the most combinations, and the one item to buy before anything else.
How she works
Document first, opinion second. When a brand claim can't be verified against something published, it gets described as a claim, not a finding. She doesn't accept free products for coverage, doesn't preview copy with commercial partners, and keeps affiliate links out of the Fine Print and Capsule Math series entirely. Expect American English, no exclamation marks, and paragraphs that end on a specific next action — read the fine print, then buy less and mend more.
