We would rather show our work than hide behind a verdict. This page describes how claims on the site are produced, so you can judge them for yourself.
Primary sources first
Where a claim depends on a number — a fibre blend, a care temperature, a published price, a certification — we go to the primary source: the composition tag, the care label, the brand's published specification, or the certifier's standard. When we summarise a secondary source, we name it and link it in the article's Sources list.
Comparing products and brands
Buying-guide comparisons use each item's published specification — fibre content, construction notes, stated care, and price as of the publication date. Prices and assortments change; we note the date and re-check on a rolling basis. We do not model limited promotions or region-locked ranges unless they are documented and generally available.
Ratings and picks
Product and brand ratings combine documented specification with our own hands-on handling where possible. A rating reflects how well an item meets the criteria stated on its page — not an absolute "best". We disclose the criteria so a different priority (price over longevity, say) could reasonably produce a different pick.
No paid coverage
We do not accept free garments, free accounts or payment in exchange for a review or a placement. Affiliate links are marked and explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. A link existing does not mean we endorse the retailer.
Corrections
If a fact is wrong or a source has moved, tell us at hello@closetlane.com. We correct the page, add a note, and keep the original publish date visible.
